Raising healthy and happy kids today can seem like a challenge, however there are so many resources available now. I raised my first son, he in now 20, at the time I was unaware of the mind-body connection and healthy alternatives. Today, I am raising my 5 year old daughter and 3 year old son. "Take a deep breath" is a regularly used phrase in our house and McDonalds is a well known big no-no!
Being mindful of the earth, eating healthy and practicing yoga are all things that my family is very aware of today. I believe because there are more resources available today then there were 10-15 years ago, or even when I was growing up.
So even though some days it feels like we are bombarded with "negative" advertising or swooned by junk food and unhealthy lifestyles, I think that all of this can be easily "turned off" and avoided, and the healthy alternatives are much more abundant and pleasing.
So I'd to know what other parents are doing to promote healthy lifestyles for their children? Any tips or advice you can share?
